After 3 years of creating and polishing every single detail, we are so proud our debut album
'KOI FOREST' is officially out. We are grateful for the journey of growth that led us to this moment. Like the slow, steady unfolding of a forest, this album was cultivated with patience, care, and love.
We wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed all the songs ourselves and recorded at The Box Studio in Zwolle, The Netherlands, throughout 2023 and 2024.

It's not by accident that the koi carp, the creature from Chinese mythology, appears in both Koi Forest's name as well as their logo. Much like the carp, which is known to swim upstream, the music of Koi Forest sonically swims against the current. Inspired by this creature, the band takes you to mythical places and unknown atmospheres in their music. With deep grooves, fairytale-like harmonies and visual stimuli, they guide you through deep forests where everything seems just slightly different.
Koi Forest consists of four band members: drummer Koen Gardebroek, bassist/pianist
Deborah Slijkhuis, guitarist Sebastiaan Visser and singer Selma Ebbens.
In spring 2025 they'll release their debut album.
